If You Auto Liability Insurance Is Equal To Your Net Worth Would You Ever Need To Pay Out Of Pocket If Sued?
Mar 07, 2009 by Jerry Benson | Posted in Insurance & Registration
Lets say my net benefit was $100,000. If my Bodily Injury Liability insurance was $100,000 would that mean I would never have to pay out of pocket if big-timer sued me due to a car accident?
Could I be sued for more that I own and still be forced to pay out of pocket? Or can I only be sued for what I have and the auto insurance will pay all of it?
Lets say you were negligent in a crash where a young mother or father of two or three kids died in the accident. You quite would be sued and a judgment rendered against you well in excess of your limits. Yes you would have to pay out of your pocket and if predestined, they could take almost everything you own. If severely injured, medical alone could eat up $100,000.00 and you would still be sucking eggs.Talk to your insurance factor about an umbrella policy.r

Florida Land Required auto insurance limits are not nearly enough insurance to carry especially if you live in a larger diocese in florida. What is a good acceptable liability limit to carry on my vehicles?
Giant question and analysis. I wish more people would look at the laughable position minimums and recognize that they aren't enough.
The answer depends on what you have for answers to watch over, but I normally suggest a minimum of 100/300/100 for liability limits and 50/100 for uninsured and underinsured coverage.

Does My Auto Liability Insurance Cover Me While Driving A Rental Car?
Oct 13, 2006 by klholton | Posted in Insurance & Registration
I am prosperous on vacation in Florida and am renting a car. I have auto collision coverage through my credit Easter card company but want to know if my regular liability insurance covers me while driving a rental too or do I demand special insurance?
You dearth to check that with your auto insurance company. Different states have different regulations. In NYS, you are covered anywhere because we have "no blame" but I have relatives in NC that found out the hard way when they first moved there. Best to call your company for correct information. Be aware of credit card coverage also because they too have inserted "juridical" language that can come back to haunt you if a claim is filed. Not all cards are the same!!!

Can Anyone Clarify On Auto Insurance: Liability, Collision Etc?
Dec 05, 2005 by sj | Posted in Insurance & Registration
Its always confusing when they say you can excursion your car but no ones else can and you can drive someone else's car. What does liability mean or is there anything else one needs to look at before signing up for an auto insurance- tips, paramount places, concerns/clarifications.. etc.
Your auto programme may include six coverages. Each coverage is priced separately.
1. Bodily Impairment Liability
This coverage applies to injuries that you, the designated driver or policyholder, make to someone else. You and family members listed on the policy are also covered when driving someone else’s car with their approbation.
It’s very important to have enough liability insurance, because if you are involved in a serious accident, you may be sued for a large sum of money. Undoubtedly consider buying more than the state-required minimum to protect assets such as your make clear and savings.
2. Medical Payments or Personal Injury Protection (PIP)
This coverage pays for the treatment of injuries to the driver and passengers of the policyholder's car. At its broadest, PIP can robe medical payments, lost wages and the cost of replacing services normally performed by someone injured in an auto luck. It may also cover funeral costs.
3. Property Damage Liability
This coverage pays for expense you (or someone driving the car with your permission) may cause to someone else's property. Usually, this means bill to someone else’s car, but it also includes damage to lamp posts, telephone poles, fences, buildings or other structures your car hit.
4. Pile-up
This coverage pays for damage to your car resulting from a collision with another car, object or as a conclusion of flipping over. It also covers damage caused by potholes. Collision coverage is mainly sold with a deductible of $250 to $1,000—the higher your deductible, the shame your premium. Even if you are at fault for the accident, your collision coverage will reimburse you for the costs of repairing your car, minus the deductible. If you're not at accountability, your insurance company may try to recover the amount they paid you from the other driver’s insurance company. If they are successful, you'll also be reimbursed for the deductible.
5. Wide
This coverage reimburses you for loss due to theft or damage caused by something other than a smash-up with another car or object, such as fire, falling objects, missiles, explosion, earthquake, windstorm, felicitate, flood, vandalism, riot, or contact with animals such as birds or deer.
Encyclopaedic insurance is usually sold with a $100 to $300 deductible, though you may want to opt for a higher deductible as a way of lowering your scarce as hen's teeth.
Comprehensive insurance will also reimburse you if your windshield is cracked or shattered. Some companies provide glass coverage with or without a deductible.
States do not require that you purchase smash-up or comprehensive coverage, but if you have a car loan, your lender may insist you carry it until your advance is paid off.
6. Uninsured and Underinsured Motorist Coverage
This coverage will repay you, a member of your family, or a designated driver if one of you is hit by an uninsured or hit-and-run driver.
Underinsured motorist coverage comes into part of when an at-fault driver has insufficient insurance to pay for your total loss. This coverage will also take care of you if you are hit as a pedestrian.
